New cruise ships for 2017 – Silver Muse


Silver Muse, the newest and largest addition to the prestigious Silversea fleet, launched in April 2017.

Built at the renowned Fincantieri shipyard, the Silver Muse is authentically true to the  line’s Italian heritage.


At 40,700 tons this stunning vessel maintains the small-ship intimacy that is so characteristic of Silversea Cruises – carrying only 596 passengers in all-veranda luxury suites.


The design of Silver Muse evolved from previous Silversea ships, with elegant interiors and fine craftsmanship remaining the priority. The palate is light and modern, with an emphasis on good taste and well-polished spaces.


The Dolce Vita lounge is the central public area and ideal to meet friends or linger over a coffee and the newspaper.


The Observation Lounge offers the best views on board.

Silver Muse Art Cafe

Literary institution Heywood Hill, the expert London bookshop, curates the bespoke library in the Arts Cafe along with collections in key suites.


The Silver Muse offers an enviable range of eateries, including the ever-popular Hot Rocks where guests cook their own meat and fish over burning lava rocks.


At over 400 square feet, even the classic veranda suites are amongst the largest at sea. Decor is refined with high-quality materials, marble bathrooms and well-planned layouts. Comfortable seating areas, full size glass doors and all the modern conveniences guests require are standard throughout. Larger suites bring expansive accommodation and greater benefits.


The tranquil Spa and state-of the art Fitness Centre provide integrated health facilities.


The first season brings exciting and diverse itineraries visiting a staggering 34 countries, 130 ports and 52 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

New cruise ships for 2017 – Viking Sky and Viking Sun

atrium-2Two new sister ships, Viking Sky and Viking Sun are expected in 2017 from this fast-growing luxury small cruise line. Identical to the two existing vessels in the fleet, Viking Star and Viking Sea, the 47,800 ton ships will carry 930 passengers in supreme comfort to exciting destinations around the globe.

living-room-3The rich Nordic heritage, central to the ethos of the cruise line itself, is reflected in the clean and fresh Scandinavian design.

There are no formal nights or casinos, and in keeping with company policy, children under 16 years are not allowed on board. Alternatively, guests lean more towards enrichment and port immersion, enjoying free excursions at every port. Both new ships have exciting and diverse itineraries on offer, with Viking Sun’s maiden season sailing the line’s first world cruise, a 141-day itinerary visiting five continents.

New cruise ships for 2017 – Seabourn Encore

Seabourn EncoreThe Seabourn Encore is the latest edition to this ultra-luxury cruise line’s award-winning fleet.

seabourn_encore_02pooldeck_el163At 40,350 tons the Encore is the largest of the four Seabourn vessels, carrying 600 guests in all-suite accommodation with private verandahs.

seabourn_encore_13atrium_el164Adam D. Tihany’s design  is more yacht-like , incorporating nautical accents of mahogany, chrome, blues, plenty of curved lines and sails offering shade on deck. Public areas are spacious, welcoming and elegant.

There are six eateries in total including Sushi, the casual eatery Colonnade and the main dining room which also features Keller dishes.

Some grumblings over a lack of self-service laundry facilities and VIP Cabanas costing extra in the plush top-deck were aired but minor discontents are to be expected at this stage and will surely be ironed out before too long.
